oxy/acet. torch problem

I had my 40 year old Victor torch reconditioned recently. First time I used the cutting torch, it worked beautifully. Just like new. Then I noticed the acetylene was very weak. No matter what I did, I could not get enough gas. When I add oxygen it kills the flame. The tank has plenty of gas. Then I took the 40 year old gauges in for the same treatment. Same problem. I have tried two different sets of hoses and still have the same problem. I have to believe something has gone weird in the torch. Any other suggestions?
