The current draw on the starter is sucking everything. Check the starter make sure all contacts and brushes are good. Clean the years of debris out of it. Also check all of your wiring that feeds the ignition switch and then to the coil. Check to make sure all contacts are clean and good. Check the wires for damage. Check your battery have it load tested as it may be going bad. Check the voltage at the battery when disconnected. Then test the voltage at the ignition switch and then the coil. There should not be a drop.

I had issues with my truck just like you. I often killed the battery cranking it. I noticed a couple of things. With the ignition switch on I had 6 Volts at the battery and the ignition switch. But there was on 4.2 volts at the coil. I then did a quick test. I put a test jumper from the Negative battery terminal to the coil terminal that the wire from the ignition switch goes to. That gave me 6 volts at the coil. The truck would start immediately when I touched the starter button. Do not leave that wire attached for very long as you will burn your points. The issue was a poor connection at the ignition switch and a weak battery.
