Indeed Jet! I would be remiss if I did not mention how incredible the resources and information has been on this website Joe and all the folks here have built. There have been numerous questions answered by reviewing the archives, in addition the help with various odd parts and knowledge has been so helpful over the past 5 months.

Watching this old truck come to life has been really fun, but to spend these days and hours with my dad and 79 year old granddad is something I will cherish forever.

Cool story, a buddy saw this PW on Craigslist and I called the fellow and he told me I called a day late and that someone else had already purchased it. I was bummed, but I am a believer in if it's meant to be mine then doors open. So, I asked that he call me back if they changed their mind. In the mean time I told my wife about it and that I thought I had found the perfect truck. I had been looking for a PW for many months and as many can attest they do not just pop up on a daily/weekly/monthly basis. Not to mention it was only 60 miles from my house and that's even more rare, as it seems for some reason there not many of these left in the deep south.

Anyway, my wife said you really do not "need" that old truck. While I agree, I did not "need" one, but I sure "wanted" one. I was then torn because I had it in my mind she was good with me buying a truck to restore. So, when I never heard back from the seller I thought well it's not my deck to get it.

Fast forward to Christmas morning '11. We were opening presents with our daughters and I started to open mine from my wife and is was a picture framed. The picture was this photo:

It's my wife, my dad and my granddad. She completely shocked me by buying the truck without my knowledge. Needless to say I have a one of a kind bride that deserves much better than me.

I thought it was too good of a story not to share.
