I talked to the yard guy at the Wash. surplus auction and he's an old Dodge man. Said he bought a '66 Charger new off the lot in '65. First thing he said was "you got a SWEET truck." He said he let it idle for a long time and it sounds great, drove it around the yard and the brakes and clutch work fine.

Now what am I going to do? I can't haul stuff around the back roads of North Idaho with it and get dents and scratches in it, and then let it sit out in the rain all winter under 4' of snow and get all rusty. But if I like it that much, I can't sell it either. I know I'm not going to "restore" it, and it'll never be a heavy hauler like the M35s. If I was to try to drive it through the river, I wouldn't make it to the other side. On the other hand, it'd sure be a lot nicer highway rig.

I guess I'll just enjoy it and think about it this summer, and if I'm really not going to do it justice, I should put it up for sale before the snow sets in. I'd sure hate to see the cab top and hood get smashed in by the snow like happened to my '65 D200.
