Entered my 61 WM300 in its first show today at Home Depot in Kenai, AK. Got 1st in the Antique Truck category. Not much competition with six other Chevys and Fords, but my Power Wagon took first. Total of 50 vehicles entered, which surprised me on a very windy, overcast day with temps in the mid-40s.
Best of Show and People's Choice seemed a little strange as the show organizers, both Home Depot employees who put on the show, got those awards. Best of show was a Model T kit car and people's choice was a not very impressive 67 Chevelle. The guy parked next to me had an immaculate 69 GTO that I thought would get best. After the announcements, he looked at me and said "isn't that funny..." Small town...
Fun time, but had hoped to meet another PW owner. Five guys told me there are two others on the Kenai Peninsula, but they didn't know their names. I'll eventually find them this summer, I hope.
