starter amperage from last forum

I have a pretty nice autometer clamp on amp meter and checked the cranking amps on the closest thing I have to a 230 . My AMC 258 pulls 176 amps steady cranking at around 80 degees, I imagine cooler oil would cause the starter to work a Little harder. I will take my meter to Iowa maybe someone will let me test a 6 volt flathead.
