The fact that the world price for oil is high, means that no one is going to sell it here for less. There is no way Gringrich could have delivered on his promise to make gas available at $2.50/gal

And this is also one of the problems with the Canadian oil pipleline to TX....most of this oil was destined to be sold for the highest world price...its impact on US prices would be minimal. US consumers would not have benefited, but the big multi-national oil companies would have.
