Same thing happened on my Digitork quite a few years ago. I easily fixed it. But.......I cant really remember how I opened it up. I think(and thats a dangerous word) that I kept unscrewing the adjustment handle until it came apart.
Once repaired, I checked it against another torque wrench I have. It read the same
