you have that backwards. ALL flathead mopars engines after about 1933 have hardened valve seats. the valves came in different materials. they seem to hold up quite well on unleaded. fuel before WW2 had hardly any lead in it at all and that is why they went hardened vaves seats and good valves. The slant 6 was NOT designed for unleaded and in the 70s whe we switcvhed to unleaded all they did was flame harden the vave seat area which did not work very good. so no additives are needed in the 230. in my D300 with slant 6 I run Bardahl instead O lead. great stff but not needed inflatheads. I suppose coudnt hurt as a fuel conditioner though.
