Sounds like it could be big trouble if the teeth strip out completely. The whole truck is rough and I don't have a spare M37 tranny. If it's the T-case, though, I think I have a couple of spares. It was a real beater when I got it, but over the years I've made it into a pretty good backwoods rig, without actually working on the drive train at all. Maybe it'll hold out until I get a good M37 built from the pieces I've accumulated. Meanwhile I'll try to use the brakes more and compression less on the steep hills.

I'll also see how it does in 2WD under similar conditions, but with nothing but a homemade flatbed in the back I expect the rear tires will just skid going down a steep hill.
