On my '06 the EGR is not a physical device, but is built into the cam grind, an "in cylinder EGR". the only way to eliminate it for me would be to install a new aftermarket cam. I wish is was a physical item that I could eliminate through removal or programming.

2004.5-2006 5.9's "In cylinder EGR" - the exhaust valve closes before TDC trapping exhaust gasses in the cylinder.
