I have heard the same thing but never tried it. But I think it will help.
Not everyone can get Aviation Gas.
You need or know someone with a Pilots certificate to buy it at the air port here.
Some guy's are trying High Octane Racing fuel which is available here easily,due to the tracks around here.
Been running Sea Foam for a while now and it has helped.
Although really have not driven much this year in high heat.
Wanted to go today but after working all day in 90+ temps with 200% humidity.I'm soaking up some A/C! ha
