If you are going to do this swap go for the small block. My 59 W 200's frame had a 440 in it and it was cut to make it fit. They cut the top flanges on both sides. If you want a 318 I'd look for a poly 318 with the u shaped front engine mount. This is a drop in swap and the poly will make great power plus look correct unless that's not a concern. Plenty of poly parts and there are headers available if you want to spice things up. I don't know that the 230 bell will mate to a V8 never had the two side by side.
