Depends also what inlet manifold is on it. There are high rise and low rise inlets for these engines. I know with the high rise on my M there's not enough room for an oil bath filter - it originally had a remote swirl type mounted on the fender - so I modified a later paper element type off a Valiant. I wanted to keep the high rise inlet as it improves the torque.
