use the 230 pump on the on the long block and there is plenty of room without moving the grill

the truck with the frozen 230 has a radiator shroud and a high pump and as i said before there is 1 in. between the fan and the radiator and as daryl says the radiator is mounted inside as in centered in the middle of the radiator support mounted to the backside of it

the clencher is is that there is almost 3 inc. between the radiator and the front grill

all i have to do is move it(the radiator) two inches forward and I am good to go

however i can't do this cuz of the oddball tank on top that sticks forward so it has to be turned around or another one made

problem is as daryl said the 251 radiator is bigger as is the rad. support, does it need to be bigger i dunno but as far as i can tell there is plenty of room even if it is

if it is mounted on the front side of the support or the back of the grill it can be taller and wider as it is outside the support and you have the depth of the support on each side to add to the width of the radiator, plus you could make it longer as i remember the 251 was but it was the same width as it was mounted on the front of the support but still inside it so it had to be the same width

if you want to keep the radiator the same thickness then it has to be the same width as the 230 as there is only 2 and a half inches between the support and the grill and the radiator is about 3 so the rad. would have to stick inbetween the support a half an in. or so

but as i say if you put the radiator all the way on the outside of the support and up the grill the radiator could only be 2 and half or so inches deep(app. half an in. less than the 230 thickness), however being on the outside of the support means you can make the radiator taller and wider that way come out with the same cooling capabilities as the thicker but shorter and narrower 230 rad.

bottom line is that to me with the pumps i got on the 230 or the 237 which look to be the same and at the same height i got plenty of room for a radiator without moving the grill

end of story

for the moment
