I, Like Paul, have the Miller 250X and have been very pleased with it. Run over 10 44 lb spools through it and all that has been replaced is a few liners. I believe the newer version of it has a digital readout and is called a 251. They are pricey but it a tool for a lifetime.

You can't go wrong with Miller or Hobart but If there is a Dealer nearby that handles parts and does repair, that is what would sway me.

You need figure what your plans are for it and go from there. As Paul said, if your planning a lot of welding, Duty cycle is everything.

Welds below were done with mine and that is Three 1 1/2 inch plates welded together making 4 1/2 inches wide.
