I definitely like your layout. Actually, I contacted you about 3-4 years ago in this regard and you were kind enough to provided me with some information, including measurements. In addition to what you mentioned regarding 40's/50's installations, I recall seeing, especially in two light installations, the corner lights sometimes splayed out at an angle to the sides.
Big problem here with pot metal is the salt air....Hmm!, now some nice old chrome or nickle over brass, that's another story.
