The general rule of thumb is to have the axis of the crank shaft, axis of the transfer case and the axis of the differential all parallel. The jack shaft and driveline make up the height difference. I am not sure what the max drive line angle can be. There should also not be any off set left to right. The driveline should never come out straight from any shaft. There needs to be an angle. That will mean that you need a U joint on both ends of drive shaft
