Usually it's a morse taper, just clean it up and give it a good wack onto the shaft, should stay. If not, buy an old Rockwell on Craigs list for cheap ha ha! This recession has brought out a lot of older machines for sale.I just picked up an old 60's Rockwell 13" thickness planer for $300, it was in a school shop, runs mint, can't even buy a cheap porta planer for that kind of $
