I broke the stuff a couple times by bending too sharp. That is why the 'spring bending pliers' came in handy. Round jaws made a big improvement.

IF you guys want to try it, it would be worthwhile to grind down a cheap pair of pliers, or needle nosed vice grips.

But I wouldn't know where to get the material, unless there is a "clock maker hobbyist' segment to the world that I don't know exists.

But I had thought that somebody here had a batch of spiral springs run off? But maybe they were window regulator springs, which are a heavier stock.
