NP420 swap question

Tomorrow I hope to swap out my NP420 in my 56 PW. The book says remove the "lower floor pan", the linkage, and the PTO and Transfer case shafts. The the four bolt and it should slide out easy as pie.

The guys as VPW told me to remove the six bolts and the shift lever to install it, and I will do that if I have to, but it looks to me like I can do this with the metal floor pan above the trsnsmission removed, and maybe rotate it a bit to get the gear shift lever in or out.

Am I missing something? This does not look like a big deal, and I have a transmission jack.
