i have come to the same conclusion regarding paying what seems to be the going price for the 11r16 michelins tires. i bought a set of Michelin XML 325/85R16
and mounted them on budd rims. they look ok, but not the look i want. so i had set of 20x10 rims made. i designed them to theoretically fit the michelin 15.5r20 xls[46 inches tall] not dot approved either. i got my rims 2 weeks ago and have not had time to unpack them yet, but i did take a quick look and they look huge. i am going to try 3 different tire sizes, i ordered a set of michelin 12.5r20xls, these are 41 inches tall. if i like those then i am done. the 12.5r20 tires are still plentiful and the new set i bought was 1k. if i dont like the look, then my next tire to try will be the michelin 14.5r20 xl[43 inches tall].i am reserving the 15.5r20 for a swivel frame with custom bed. i will post pics of tires as i get them mounted.
