I'm with GM. It is more trouble than it is worth to join Yahoo, especially since the information is so readily available elsewhere.

If you want to get nickpicky about all the different part numbers and what years they were used, Phil has a complete list of Auto-Lite components for 1946 through 1956 6-volt Power-Wagons on his t137 site.

As far as generators, caps, rotors, points, and condensers - there were basically two used - an early large cap and a later small cap. Neither cares whether you are running 6-volts, 8-volts, or 12-volts. If the large cap does not fit the distributor, then you need the small cap and the corresponding rotor and points. These can be found at most any farm store as many tractors, combines, hay balers, and forklifts used engines with Auto-Lite ingnition systems. No one else can beat their prices. I can buy the correct cap, rotor, condenser, and points - all in one set - for under $15.00 at my local farm store, visually inspect it in person, and pay no shipping.
