well i have this 47 i'm working on,, and alot of bee's nest wires going on, a few questions.

first,, the truck has a "D" dodge passenger motor(6volt) and has a 12 volt battery with GM alternator,,

the cap's center(coil wire) spring loaded button is smashed in,, so i'm getting all new tune up parts.

1.) do i need 6 v or 12 volt stuff?

it does have a resister/ballest on the firewall, i am assuming that someone put 12 volt button and cap on a 6 volt distributor and that's why the cap center(coil wire) is warn off.

do i also need a 6 volt coil,, or can i stay with a 12 volt coil, jc

ps. i looked at the PIF section, and it list parts for both 6 and 12 v stuff,, this distributor is definitly 6 volt/ per the dist tag letters. remember its a "D" dodge passenger motor.

starter looks 12 v also,,

thanks jc
