I think most motor mounts are made for compression. All the motor mounts I have seen have a steel interlock in case the rubber fails. I believe in tension theinterlocking pieces will be in contact and there won't really be any isolation. I have seen custom mounts made using rubber bushings similar to leaf spring eye bushings inserted into dom tube these could be used in tension or compression
