As many of you know I've been dealing with my Dad's failing health from 3,500 miles away since Christmas eve. My son and I visited for a week three weeks ago and dad is in a nursing home. The conditions are atrocious, but that is an O/T conversation that at some point I will rant about later. I am now in the process of moving him to Alaska where I know he will get the care he needs.

Anyway, the point of this is that after sitting idle for more than two months in temps to -30 and about 50" of snow that I have to move twice every time since my 61 is parked outside, I went out to start it tonight and it started right up. I have been running the block and oil pan heater for three hours daily on a timer so I'm sure that has helped. Also put the Optima battery on a slow charge on Christmas day.

So it is now in the garage to warm up so I can again tackle my fan blower problem that I have posted about before. Pretty frustrating with the winter we've had since I can't drive it due to a defroster/heater that doesn't blow hard enough to enable safe driving conditions.

I was so doubtful that it would start tonight and worried about all the things that can go wrong in our extreme conditions--lots of things break up here that don't in the Lower 48. So I'm a happy guy...I should have never doubted the dependability of my Power Wagon.
