Enlisted late in the war because of age and my Grandparents reluctance to let him go. Trained as Cox'sn for LCI's. Sent to the Pacific at the very end. Went to Korea. Awarded the Bronze Star for twice staying on the beach until his boat was fully loaded with wounded Marines going back to the ship. I miss him.
