We're about due for another Obama energy speech. You know the one where he says the federal government should borrow lots more money to give to various solar and wind companies, subsidize people who buy electric cars, and thereby create American jobs out of moonbeams and pixie dust.
I'd like to hear him explain how the price of gas can suddenly jump 50% (if that's what it ends up doing) while the US is exporting gas. Did 50% of the world's oil wells suddenly dry up? Did 50% of the refineries explode? Did cars suddenly start getting 50% worse mileage?
Or did the value of the US dollar drop at the same time as is friends on Wall Street figured they could a quick billion or two in some commodity speculation? Obama may have it in for the oil industry, but he's as good a friend of the Wall Street shysters as they could ever hope to have. He likes people who make their money moving numbers around in a computer a lot more than he likes people go get their hands dirty actually producing useful things like oil. Actually making things is bad for the environment, but moving numbers around in a computer is clean and green.
