Why are you blaming oil companies? Oil companies buy land, drill dry holes, hire people, take risks and are taxed at every turn. Then the fuel is taxed at the pump another .50 cents or more. The oil companies are making less profit than a grocery store or bank. The question should be is why is the tax man so greedy? They make no investment and takes no risk.
Ever look at it that way? What do you do for a living? collect taxes?
