That's convincing, but I just can't bring myself to put a gunked up oil pan back on an engine. Partly it's because I want to see how much metal dust is in the bottom. I don't think Dodge spread a layer of sludge in the bottom of the pan before shipping the truck, so maybe cleaning the sludge out once every 50 years won't hurt anything?
