paint might have just com off. the 47 I restored both were bronze but remmber the right hand was an option. so they just grabbed off the shelf when needed at the dealer most likely. the truck I restored was picked up in detroit so ordered with both brackets. he drove it home to Bremerton WA to break it in. imagine the roads back in 1947! probably stretches of dirt and gravel still.
