Good to see you are back. Sorry your dad is in such bad shape.
It is sad when the wildlife suffers due to a winter. The winter is tough enough on animals without having to lay on frozen ground and die after being hit by a car. There's one section of highway between Sandpoint and the Canadian border, about 50 miles, where nearly 300 deer, moose, and elk were killed either on the highway or on the train tracks. Actually more were killed on the tracks. The DOT made a big deal about how they were going to provide a safer corridor through that area for the animals. I figured maybe fences like they have in Canada. Turns out they put up a flashing light sign, telling people to watch for wildlife. Duh
