Recently needed to replace a old 3 ton floor jack,the old strong arm had seen over 30 years here.I checked internet and even this forum had a talk about jacks.On average any decent floor jacks that meet the same type as the old jack were approxamatly 500 to 600$.I started calling around and could not find anything local,limited stock and nothing close by.The local Canadian Tire store had a jack on sale (98.00$) so i went to check it out.It was the exact copy of the jack I was replacing.This jack has weight of 100 pounds,so just a shade under a dollar a pound.Plus the fact this jack had to be delivered to a ship,transported across a ocean,then trucked 4000 miles across country to a warehouse.Then again trucked locally to the store.The fact every one who touched that jack,from China to my town had to have charged a few bucks on the transportation.Never mind what it cost to make the jack, but just the shippng and handling what did the Chinese manufacture sell that jack for maybe 50 or 60 bucks.You have to wonder.junoir copey
