taking off cowl on '56 Wagon?

Sorry for a dumb question from a newbie..

I need to take the cowl off to pull the radiator. My book does not show much on that. But when I take the cowl off, does it includes 3 parts, left side, right side and top? And it looks like there is no way to take the top off without pulling the sides with it. Am I missing something?

The paint work by the previous owner is in nice shape, so I'm trying not to ding it too much in the process!
