Tom, where do you get your coal and what do you pay for it? I have a neat old coal stove in my office that will run great on any size coal you put in it, but doesn't run so good on wood. I've managed to scrounge up a couple hundred pounds here and there from time to time from old piles left around here, but there's nobody selling coal any more. I see long trains of coal going down the Clark Fork but they're all heading for ports on the coast. There's one dealer in Spokane who wants something like $200/ton. I think only blacksmiths buy his coal. The last coal dealer in Missoula got out of the business about 5 years ago. The nearest place I can get coal at a reasonable price is Sheridan Wyoming ($35 last I checked, but 600 miles away), and I'd have to haul it myself from there. Have you got a coal dealer in your neighborhood?
