I have propane for the house. I use two pellet stoves in the house and one in the shop. I like them. Have burned pellets for 23 years. They started at about $1.75 a bag and have gone up into the $4 a bag range.

My stove advice is get a good one that burns clean at low speeds. You don't need the high speed settings in my house. Toasty warm!

Propane goes crAzy high here in winter. Pellets give me great heat in the rooms with the stoves. I really like them. I also would add that I like the free standing stoves. I take the stoves out of the house once every two years. Put a mask on and plow them out with compressed air. I also get the fans out and clean the blades etc. They burn real clean and hot once you service them like this. I disconnect the electronics in the summer. The summer lightning gets them if I leave them connected. As Paul said buy good pellets if you go this way.
