You may save some time by disconecting the two wires from the sending unit atop the fuel tank and checking the continuity between the two terminals on the unit. Try it with a full tank and later after you've gone 50 miles or so. If you don't get different readings on your meter, your sending unit is toast. If it checks out, there are two wires that run from the sending unit to the back of the gauge. Test for shorts or simply replace them. Still no
reading on the gauge? Relace the gauge.
