Ray's conversion kit to put a 318 in the M37 requires an extra center dump manifold from the passenger side for the drivers side, where clearances are such that the rear dump will not fit.
I got to noticing on both my center dump manifolds that they both have the dampner that when closed forces exhaust through the intake manifold to quickly heat it up.

Having BOTH manifolds do this will choke off all the exhaust.

So, you either need to wire one open, or remove the dampner and have the holes welded shut to prevent an exhaust leak. Since the manifold is cast iron and rusty and thin, you'll have to find a real pro to get a good weld on it. It might work better with a steel rod run through the holes, or if you have to, a skinny stainless steel bolt and bolt it together and seal with gasket cement.

I do not know if these center dumps ever came w/o the dampner. All the ones I checked at my buddy's wrecking yard had them.
