One auto engineer told me that the total thickness of the sring pack= weight capacity,but more, thinner leaves are what you want for more travel with a smoother action.Soo, if you want more travel replace your 11 1/4 leaves with 12 7/32 , arced higher. (I don't know whats available,but don't let the spring shop sell you on 7pcs 3/8 thick- it'll ride like a truck).Grease between leaves is a realy good idea too- thats what the ambulances had under the wrapping ala WWII, so wwwthe wounded had a better ride.
