My 1st 64'WM300 had a rebuilt spitfire eng. in it which came from a rebuild co. in atlanta,Ga . I just measured the head from front to back which is 25-1/2" long,obviously not a 230. It seems I had onced called the # on a rebuild tag attached to the eng.(now gone)and was told it was a rebuilt replacement not the original.He said the head meant nothing as it would fit both the 251 or 256 being they were the same block with different stroked cranks. It will be the eng.# that identifies the eng. not the head as it could have been a replaced head.
