BUT
if you can get to the back side
you hit the center of the low spot with the ball end of a ball peen hammer hard enuff to make a new bump out at each oil can low spot, it will stretch all the metal hopefully uniformly and you will only have the bumps to shrink back down and
as Archie mentioned the shrinking disk from Wray is a miracle worker for shrinking.
you just shrink only the bumps you have created
