I was just watching Goldfinger and got a kick out of the M43 ambulance they had rigged up with some kind laser gun that popped up out of the top and burned a hole through the door of Fort Knox. It sure looks like they took a real M43 and cut hatches in the side for the "control panel" and split the top down the middle, hinged to fold out so the ray gun could pop up. I suppose they were cheap back then.
The movie guys moved the rear shackles to the outside of the bumperetts, I suppose so it would be more visible when they hooked a chain onto them and dragged the Ft Knox door out of the way. It looked stupid, though, and would be a lousy idea in real life.
Yeah, I know everybody else pays more attention to the Aston-Martin than the army trucks.
