yes and i meant to post a link to the new one. I believe if they were available in 6v and 12v the motor part can be swapped and possibly a starter / alternator guy could change the internals. i have found when using resistors, you get poor service. i found a 12v blackout light for my command car that replaced the 6v+ resistor that was stock. eliminated the resistor from the circuit, but mounted it for correct look. i try to eliminate ballasts and work arounds whenever possible. hope you find a 12v unit for 15 dollars.
