OT rack & pinion power steering problem ?

Finally came to the glorious day when we fired up the 47 Ford business coup that we have been working on for 2 years.
Engine ran fine, but we installed a Pinto rack & pinion set-up from Chassis Engineering.
The minute that you touch the steering wheel, it radically jumps back and forth, about taking off you thumbs and fingers.
There is oil in the pump and I am fairly sure that the hoses are attached correctly.
Since I do not hang out on any hotrod forums, do any of you guys have any ideas??
