They are the original spring retaining u-bolts found on the WDX-WM300 model Power-Wagon, and other, generally heavy-duty applications.

They are forged into a "U" shape rather than being hot or cold bent into shape and they have a flattened saddle that accurately fits the base under the rubber spring bumper.

In my opinion, they are much more durable than the much more commonly found modern bent U-bolts. I have not seen them experience the stretching and distorting problems commonly displayed by more modern bent U-bolts when reusing after the initial tightening.

I doubt the tooling exists anymore to make perfect reproductions of the originals found on our trucks, but the available new "forged tops" are probably much closer in appearance than any of the common bent round bar U-bolts on the market.
