237 was an enigne CD, used in Desoto and some trucks.

Perhaps the T237 meant Truck 237, a rebuilder's stock number? His 59th one? If it was a genuine Dodge #, it would have a star at each end?

All speculative, I do have a car book but no truck book. But this is the interweb, someobdy will be here in a second to tell me I'm wrong. ;^) But I do love the discussion.
