Supercharge or turbocharge will let your flat-head breathe a lot better and with the extra air you can probably get away with the compression as is, but consider that propane likes compression and a different advance curve. Naturally aspirated 10 or even 12 to 1 works well and the spark needs to be well advanced at idle, but not over-advanced at higher rpm's.
