It depends on what you want to do. I'm no web wizard, but I have found that all the GoDaddy products work as claimed and are reasonably priced. I've set up 2 stores and 2 websites with them, and one with another outfit that I've been with for a long time just out of inertia. One nice thing about GoDaddy is they provide free server space for a web site and email along with any domain name registration. The server space is adequate for most ordinary uses, and for ~$10/yr it's a tough deal to beat. The next step up in capacity is only something like $3/mo. The only downside with GoDaddy is that when you're on their site buying what you want, they are pretty sneaky about trying to upsell you with various add-ons. Often the most obvious button to click is the one that will have you buying something you don't want.

I would not bother with any "free" hosting services because they will put ads on your page. If you don't know the first thing about creating a website and don't want to learn, GoDaddy has a thing called "web site tonight" that will set up a basic web site for you without any programming. I haven't tried it but it's supposed to be a fill-in-the-blanks sort of deal that will get you up and running quickly. If it's like their other products, it probably works well.

The main thing is to start simple and not get sucked into thinking you need to do a bunch of fancy stuff or buy a bunch of extra services. For my money, the GoDaddy domain name registration with free basic hosting is the best deal around.
