Yea, I get that a lot as people want the easy way out. They think a buffer should take out deep scratch or magically fix the part somehow. Not going to happen. With stainless, you can't hide anything.

Just like these mirror arms. They were hand turned on a lathe, smoothed up with a file and sanded down. The ball detail was hand filed and blended to the flat by using a magic marker as a flush guide. The sanded out and polished. It's not rocket science it just takes the desire to do it.
