All depends on the use you have planned for the vehicle. You can look at Engineering from many different levels, but application requirements drive specifications that drive the designs and part/material selections. It all starts with the customers requirements, and any damn big brother dictates.
I know with out the 39.5x13.50-17LT tires on my M37 I'd not be able to go all the places I've taken the truck.
